Stone Dead Studios is an independent recording and rehearsal space based in Hamilton, Scotland — built by musicians, for musicians. Founded by long-time writing partners Christopher “CJ” Johnston and Shuggy McKay, the studio grew out of over a decade of playing, producing, and refining their craft across the Scottish music scene.

What started as a small DIY setup has evolved into a full creative hub: a place where bands can rehearse, record, film live sessions, build content, and develop their sound in a relaxed, artist-focused environment. Whether you’re a brand-new band or a touring act, we make sure you feel welcome, supported, and listened to.

Alongside our music-focused work, we also provide voice over, dubbing, and audio post-production services for animation, digital media, and long-form content. From voice casting and performance direction to dialogue recording, editing, and broadcast-ready delivery, we offer a flexible, professional solution for clients looking for reliable audio production and localisation support.
